Biography:

A co-founder and former CEO of Ripple before stepping down from the role in 2016, Chris Larsen is currently serving as executive chairman of Ripple's board of directors. Before joining Ripple, Larsen had founded a peer-to-peer lending marketplace named Prosper. He was also the CEO for E-Loan, the first company to provide people open access to their credit scores. Larsen oversees the high-level strategic vision of Ripple and is an active philanthropist.

Chris Larsen's 2019:

On July 29, 2019, Larsen and Ripple co-founder Brad Garlinghouse co-authored an open letter to the U.S. Congress imploring sensible regulation of the blockchain industry that does not inhibit the technologies and ventures that can co-exist with and improve existing financial institutions. Larsen also continued his committment to charitable endeavors through the Ripple for Good initiative and the nonprofit foundation Rippleworks. Larsen and his wife Lyna Lam donated $25 million in XRP to San Fransisco University, reportedly the largest cryptocurrency donation to a U.S. university.
