Tether (USDT) is a stablecoin: a crypto asset pegged to the price of an underlying asset, backed by equivalent value. Tether aims for each USDT token to be worth one United States dollar. USDT runs as a token on a number of different blockchains, including Ethereum blockchain. Stablecoins pegged to other asset values also exist under the Tether brand name. As Tether’s price (USDT) is aimed at $1 to match the value of the U.S. dollar, a Tether price prediction is somewhat nonsensical. Although Tether price in USD has fluctuated notably at points in its history, recent years show almost no price fluctuation on Cointelegraph’s cryptocurrency Tether Price Index.
