Biography:
Mance Harmon has over 20 years of experience in senior-level roles across various startups and corporations. In 2017, he co-founded Hedera Hashgraph, a next-generation distributed ledger technology that claims to possess higher speeds and security guarantees than existing blockchain solutions.
Mance Harmon's 2019:
As the reveal of Facebook’s Libra project began to saturate the industry discourse, Harmon indicated that the consortium governance model of the Libra Association was partly inspired by his conversation with Libra’s head, David Marcus.
The public beta launch of the Hedera Hashgraph network took place in September, offering three services: trading the HBAR cryptocurrency, smart contracts and file services. The HBAR token saw a 90% decline in value after a few months of being live on the market. At the end of 2019, Harmon and the Hedera team cited that user acquisition had not occurred as quickly as they anticipated, concluding that the team will reassess the token economics to drive more value to holders of HBAR’s Simple Agreement for Future Tokens.
What Cointelegraph expects for 2020:
With the launch of Hedera Hashgraph not meeting expectations, Harmon and team will be hard at work reassessing the token’s economics and business strategy in an effort to bring value to investors and reaffirm their competitive presence in a proliferation of blockchain networks.
