“I think a lot of the cryptocurrency stuff is more centered around making cryptocurrencies an action of charity." [...] I think for efficacy, my personal philosophy would be like: Hey, to whom much is given, it’s better to do something more helpful in the short term.“

Biography:

Kathleen Breitman is the co-founder of Tezos, a blockchain-based smart contract platform with an on-chain governance mechanism to coordinate and push upgrades to its network. Previously, she was a senior strategy associate for R3, a blockchain consortium of more than 70 financial firms. She has also worked at Accenture, Bridgewater Associates and the Wall Street Journal.

Kathleen Breitman's 2019:

In 2019, the Tezos blockchain, which launched in Sept. 2018, surpassed 1 million transactions, marking an impressive milestone in the nascent smart contract platform. At the TezTalks conference in May 2019, Breitman announced Coase, a digital, collectible card game and marketplace that will be built on the Tezos blockchain. In November, cryptocurrency exhange Coinbase allowed Tezos holders to stake their XTZ to earn passive income while helping to secure the network's operations. Breitman also pledged to donate 15% of her Tezos sale proceeds to charity.

What Cointelegraph expects for 2020:

As the Tezos network matures in terms of infrastructure development and product development, the "self-governing" blockchain will likely conduct various protocol-governance upgrades throughout the year. The new year will also see further progress on the development of the collectible card game and marketplace Coase. Breitman will also speak at the North American Bitcoin Conference in Miami, occuring from Jan. 15 to 17.
