Biography:
Caitlin Long, who had spent 22 years on Wall Street in senior roles, first came across Bitcoin in 2012 in Austrian School economics circles. She fully immersed herself in 2013 when an article on “how to” buy and store Bitcoin hit her inbox. With a passion for “honest ledgers” and the goal to make securities markets fairer by issuing and trading securities on a blockchain, Long was chairwoman and president of blockchain startup Symbiont until 2018.
In 2017, she co-founded Wyoming Blockchain Coalition and, from 2018 to 2019, Long was a gubernatorial appointee at the Wyoming Blockchain Task Force, which was responsible for enacting 13 blockchain-enabling laws in Wyoming. She also chaired WyoHackathon, a nonprofit hackathon in 2018 and 2019.

While Long left the Wyoming Blockchain Coalition Task Force and the Wyoming Blockchain Coalition in 2019, she has remained hard at work advocating for blockchain development within the state, spearheading the WyoHackathon project, having put together an impressive event combining several conferences from business and development to policy discussions. Long also spoke at the Consensus Invest conference in New York to discuss her work in making the "Equality State" a haven for blockchain business and commerce.

Long will continue her work in shaping Wyoming into a haven for crypto-related businesses in the U.S. The third WyoHackathon/Blockchain Stampede event is set to take place in 2020 on Sept. 24–27 at the University of Wyoming.
