Press Release

Turkey’s most exclusive blockchain event – IstanBlock 2020 – launches its early bird ticket sale today, amid huge excitement across the region for the first speaker announcement, expected in the coming weeks.

IstanBlock 2020 takes place April 9-10 and will be the flagship event of Istanbul Blockchain Week, running April 6-10.

Excitement for the exclusive event is reaching fever pitch, with more than 2,000 attendees expected at Istanbul’s prestigious Hilton Bomonti Hotel to network, enjoy top-quality speakers and listen to influencers from the world of blockchain and cryptocurrency, plus the opportunity to take part in break-out sessions and learn more about the groundbreaking technology that’s shaking up the status quo.

For international projects, IstanBlock 2020 provides projects with an exciting opportunity to build a presence in the new hotbed for cryptocurrency and blockchain. For Turkish projects, the event will build strategic partnerships with leading international projects, provide global media exposure and create jobs for the Turkish community that is looking to work in the blockchain industry.

The agenda for the event will cover several of the key hot topics facing the industry including DeFi, Derivatives, Regulation, Gaming and Institutional adoption.

Erhan Korhaliller, Founder and CEO of blockchain PR agency EAK Digital, which is organizing the event to raise the profile of the Turkish blockchain industry globally, tells of mounting interest as more speakers, media organizations and blockchain businesses get involved. He said:

“There’s a palpable sense of excitement both on the ground in Istanbul and across the globe; we have been so well received. We are well on our way to launching a new annual event that Turkey can be proud of, and which places the country’s innovators on the global stage.

This will be the first time Turkey has hosted many of the world-class speakers we have scheduled to speak at IstanBlock, and we will certainly host them and the rest of the Turkish blockchain community in style.”

Early bird tickets go on sale today, with prices starting at £250 for guests travelling from outside of Turkey. Tickets will remain on sale until January 15, after which prices are set to increase.

In order to ensure the event is of maximum benefit for Turkish Nationals, they themselves will benefit from hugely discounted tickets, with prices starting from just £30, with the Turkish early bird discount also ending on January 15.

Erhan added:

“Whilst bringing over the major international speakers and sponsors to Turkey is a great honour, it is even more important that we host as many participants from Turkey as possible in order to leave a massively positive impact for the Turkish blockchain ecosystem.”

Turkey - The Global Leader in Cryptocurrency

Turkey has a strong relationship with cryptocurrencies, with a recent survey by ING finding that Turks were playing a huge role in driving the adoption of cryptocurrencies, and its underlying blockchain technology. A second survey showed 20 percent of the population used or owned cryptocurrency.

Nicholas Merten, considered one of the most influential and largest Crypto YouTubers, and the Founder of DataDash, said of IstanBlock 2020:

“Turkey has provided the perfect test case for cryptocurrencies to truly scale. IstanBlock is the perfect place for blockchain and crypto projects to enter the new hotbed of blockchain and cryptocurrencies.”

The event promises a range of sponsorship options across four distinct tiers: Diamond, Gold, Silver and Bronze.
