Cudos launched phase one of its incentivized testnet, Project Artemis, on Sept. 20, 2021.
“This is an exciting time for our product team as we’ve been working hard with the engineers to build this new special-purpose Cudos blockchain. Project Artemis is the first time we’ll be letting our community loose on it. We can’t wait to see what people use it for and we’re eagerly awaiting more feedback to continue our journey toward a mainnet release,” commented Ethan Illingworth, blockchain product manager at Cudos.
As the first building block of Cudos’ entire mainnet, thousands of developers are queuing to join. Projects like this are the building blocks for the decentralized finance metaverse. Moreover, Artemis realizes the very purpose of the utility token Cudos, which will be used for rewarding participation.
Named after NASA’s mission to the moon, Cudos’ project is a defining moment for the entire decentralized cloud computing and blockchain space. Indeed, it is a “small step” for the carbon neutrality-committed company and a giant leap for the whole industry.
Project Artemis’ goals
- Secure the network — log errors and give qualitative feedback to ensure a bulletproof platform in production for the mainnet.
- Foster innovation — promote exploration and innovation in the Cudos Network to get developers building.
- Grow the community — create a diverse network of validators to ensure security and availability.
Project Artemis’ phases
Phase one: Apollo (set-up)
Starter tasks for onboarding validators and users, focusing on account creation, hardware provisioning, node syncing and the Cudos faucet.Phase 2: Buzz (platform testing)
Test all aspects of validation, including staking, delegated staking and rewards.Phase 3: Armstrong (adversarial stress test)
A coordinated strike to bring as much diversity in transaction activity as possible to the Cudos Network.Phase 4: Collins (migration testing)
A dry run of the genesis and migration plan for the new native Cudos Network.
Tasks and rewards
During the incentivized testnet, participants will earn rewards by completing tasks. Once the mainnet is deployed, participants of Project Artemis will have native Cudos airdropped to their wallets as a reward for their contributions.
“We are proud to be launching our incentivized testnet Project Artemis. This stage is the culmination of many years of work. With over 20,000 developers signed up already, we’re excited to see what ideas and projects are created along with the NFT marketplaces, DeFi and games platforms already being built on our network,” concluded Matt Hawkins, founder and CEO of Cudos.
How to join?

About Cudos
The Cudos Network is a layer-one blockchain and layer-two computation and oracle network that ensures decentralized, permissionless access to high-performance computing at scale and enables scaling of computing resources to 100,000 nodes. Once bridged onto Ethereum, Algorand, Polkadot and Cosmos, Cudos will enable scalable computing and layer-two oracles on all of the bridged blockchains.
