One of the film’s stars is 35 year old Dan Mross, a computer programmer from Pittsburgh, who became fascinated by Bitcoin in 2011. Mross’ younger brother Nicholas directed the film. Nicholas filmed the documentary for well over a year at various locations around the world.
The internet is littered with heaps of videos explaining the many aspects of Bitcoin. Newbies to the digital currency might not know where to start as they sift through the countless videos on Youtube. Given the enormous exposure it will receive and the prestige of playing Tribeca, The Rise and Rise of Bitcoin will hopefully be a refreshing and encompassing analysis of everything Bitcoin.
The annual Tribeca Film Festival was created in 2002 by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal, and Craig Hatkoff to celebrate the New York film community. The Rise and Rise of Bitcoin will make its world premiere on April 23 at 5:30 PM at SVA Theatre 2 in Chelsea, Manhattan, followed by a Q&A with the Mross Brothers and two other panelists.
