The second North American Bitcoin Conference is coming to Chicago this summer. The much-anticipated event will draw thousands of Bitcoin entrepreneurs, businessmen, and tech-savvy developers to the Windy City on July 19-20.
Moe Levin, the organizer of the event, is anticipating an even larger draw in Chicago than the popular first NABC in Miami. Levin elaborated:
“Last conference was spectacular – we expected 750 people, but over 1200 people came. The biggest one yet in the states. Thankfully, we were able to scale it and open up extra rooms. We’re hoping to double that this time in Chicago.”
So how will the Windy City conference up the ante? Theagenda includes over 40 speakers and panelists, including Bitcoin investor Roger Ver, AKA “Bitcoin Jesus,” financial editor Jeff Berwick, Litecoin creator Charlie Lee, Bitcoin Magazine co-founder Vitalik Buterin, along with a plethora of others.
The conference will also hold workshops for merchants that will introduce the latest innovations from vendors, exhibitors, and the latest Bitcoin startups. Panel discussions will be led by venture capitalists, regulators, banks, and government officials. The conference also looks to lighten up the vibe and throw some top-notch rooftop parties, a staple at the Clevelandier in Miami this year.
The Bitcoin world has obviously changed since the first NABC in January and will likely undergo more transformation by the time the second one goes down in July. Levin gave his thoughts on the relevance of the event:
“Right now is a critical moment for Bitcoin. The world’s most independent currency just turned 5 and is entering a crucial phase in its development. In the last six months, the currency has dramatically increased in visibility and experienced the pros and cons of the limelight: rising acceptance with vendors and shoppers alongside scrutiny, regulations and fluctuating prices.”
The event is defined as “the most respected Bitcoin conference in North America” and was “recently featured in CNN Money, Forbes, Yahoo! Finance, and The Wall Street Journal.”
The second North American Bitcoin Conference will take place on July 19-20 in the South Building of the McCormick Palace. Early bird tickets are priced at $225 until May 15, which you can buy in bitcoin. All tickets sold after May 15 are priced at $275.
