American company CryoBit focuses on producing Cryo Cards cold storage that is highly resilient todamage.

This week CryoBit published a video showing a saltwater corrosion resistance test and a detaileddescription on what happened to the card after 10 days (albumof the Cryo Card prototype after 10 days).

“So far the card it is performing as expected. The type of stainlesssteel used in Cryo Card’s construction is marine grade, meaning it has superiorcorrosion resistance to water, especially warm saltwater,” wrote company representatives to/r/Bitcoin. “We willcontinue to post updates on Cryo Card's superior corrosion, heat, and scratchresistance on a weekly basis.”

The test is a continuation of previous tests, including an impressivehigh temperature propane torch test.

Cointelegraph has already examined some of the more damage resistant offline wallets before but this time we can see demonstrations of howactually damage proof cold storages can be.

According to legend, the CryoBit company was founded by two crypto-currencyenthusiasts - Brian Atchley and Cody Maher, who decided to search for a bettersolution of offline paper storages after one of them (who will remain unnamed)lost a paper wallet in a minor flooding incident.

The problem of how to ensure that their personal coins could be keptsafe from the wet, humid, and corrosion inducing climate of their home state ofFlorida was the first step.

Today CryoBit company produces Cryo Cards both for Bitcoin and Litecoin.

The base layer of Cryo Cards is made of AMS 5524 stainless steel, whichis aerospace grade metal that demonstrates high level of resistance to bothhigh heat temperatures of up to 2500°F (1370°C) and corrosion in allenvironments (resistant to acids and bases, fresh and salt water).

Inscriptions are made by a high-contrast proprietary ceramic-glassmaterial that exceeds the metal’s oxidative and thermal performance. It makescards surface virtually scratchproof. Moreover, it seems to be almostimpossible to erase original markings of the card without removing the metallayer underneath.

To generate private keys improved AES- 256 encryption is used. Theprocess of generating keys for Cryo card is performed in your own browser andnot on the servers of the company, so no one except you will know your privatekey.

The Cryo Card prices are about US$20-$30.  All cards are shipped by USPS first-class forall domestic US orders, while international shipping is also available at anadditional charge.
