Blockchain venture platform ConsenSys has announced the launch of its ConsenSys Academy with a 10-week developer challenge.

Dubbed the “2017 Challenge,” ConsenSys is giving student and professional developers who pass its entry requirements an “all-expenses paid” immersion course in Blockchain, culminating in final exams and hands-on experience with its own staff in Dubai.

“ConsenSys Academy's 2017 Challenge will help prepare blockchain developers for one of the fastest growing fields in technology, and provide them the opportunity to work full-time on applications that are disrupting industries across the globe with its real-world solutions,” an accompanying press release states.

Finalists who make it to Dubai will join a city positioning itself as both a Blockchain hub and a pioneer in the Internet of Things for its infrastructure.

ConsenSys itself was awarded the role of Blockchain City Advisor by the dedicated Smart Dubai Office coordinator in March, while a host of associated projects surrounding Blockchain use cases in the area is ongoing.

“Dubai's aim is to be the world's first blockchain powered city and it continues to attract leading experts and talent around the world to help fulfill this goal,” ConsenSys adds.

Applications for the 2017 Challenge are open until July 1. The program itself will run from August 1 through October 10.
