Coinbase will be giving $10 worth of Bitcoin to students who create a new Coinbase account using their .edu email address. The project was inspired by the MIT Bitcoin Project of MIT reported by Cointelegraph.
Coinbase hope they can attract more students and increase students’ interest in digital currency.
“We believe that getting more young scholars thinking about and transacting in Bitcoin will help spur the growth of the ecosystem and contribute to the ever-increasing creative ways Bitcoin is being used to make the world a better place,” said the announcement on the Coinbase blog page.
To participate, student must have a valid email address using their college domain and be at least 18 years old. Students can sign-up at cryptocoinsnews.com. Coinbase with their college email account. Shortly after registration the students will receive $10 worth of Bitcoin in account. It is important to note that a student can only receive the bonus once.
A new Bitcoin giveaway was announced on Wednesday, May 14 and the affect has already been noticed.
At the moment of writing, a great number of Bitcoin have already been processed. The most popular universities, where students opened the biggest number of accounts so far are The University of Illinois, The University of Texas and Berkeley University of California.
