Following its acquisition by one of the world’s leading companies in the Bitcoin space, Bitmain,  Blocktrail is rebranding to BTC.com and it will be doing localized marketing.

Alejandro De La Torre, business development at Blocktrail, explains to Cointelegraph:

“We will be translating our bitcoin wallet and site into many different languages. So, for example for Spanish, once we've released the update, we will be going to Spain to do events presentations, parties, videos etc.”

Most used Bitcoin app ever?

Bitmain is a leading Bitcoin mining hardware manufacturer particularly for the Antminer series of bitcoin miners.

Bitmain also operates Hashnest, a cloud-mining platform, Antpool, one of the largest Bitcoin mining pools, and BTC.COM, a block explorer and technology platform which is the planned future host for Blocktrail services.

Blocktrail had said that joining forces with Bitmain is an important step forward for them, as the move will benefit their wallet, API and block explorer users.

De La Torre says to Cointelegraph:

“We have much more resources now and they can expect the app in their native tongue as well as dedicated support with constant updates in the app. We intend on and are expanding quickly to grow the BTC.com bitcoin app to be the most used bitcoin app in the whole industry.”

What is Blocktrail?

Blocktrail positions itself as one of the few wallets that enables users to maintain full control over their Bitcoin private keys. It enables users to pay Bitcoin to friends without QR codes or long addresses.

Founded in 2011 with €500,000 ($669,310) funding from BlockCorp4, Blocktrail is based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Blocktrail’s platform provides consumers and developers with tools to interface with the blockchain, through its secure Bitcoin wallet, its powerful developers’ platform, and its popular online block explorer which provides users with online information about cryptocurrency transactions.
