An online gambler won 160 BTC in a single spin in likely the largest ever single jackpot claim in Bitcoin history.

The player, who went on to walk away with Bitcoin equivalent to $255,000 at current prices, struck lucky at Troll Hunters, hosted by Bitcoin casino Cloudbet.

The casino announced the “milestone” win in a dedicated press release on Friday.

“For us, this signifies a new era in the relentless growth of Bitcoin gambling,” Cloudbet Head of Operations Leandro Rossi commented.

“[Bitcoin is] faster, easier and more secure so big winners can get paid instantly. This attracts players, offering more liquidity and enabling higher limits than many fiat operators. We welcome high rollers so we’re delighted to see this happen and would love to see the record beaten again.”

The unnamed player started out the session with an opening bet of just 0.16 BTC ($188), the win representing roughly a 136,000 percent profit.

Cloudbet declined to return a request by Cointelegraph for further comment.

Bitcoin gambling, meanwhile, continues to take off, with new services joining the market on a regular basis. Most recently, Seymour B.V., the umbrella group which owns popular resources including BitPlutos, launched AdmiralSpot.com, aiming to bring the “most modern” technology to Bitcoin-only gameplay.
