The world of Bitcoin is coming to the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show, sponsored by a huge partnership between BitPay, Circle, Kraken, Bitmain, Blockchain, Bitstamp, Private Internet Access, Robocoin, and yBitcoin. The world of Bitcoin show will feature ten different brands that are shaping the Bitcoin and virtual currency industries.
Bitcoin on the Verge
Emily Vaughn, Marketing Manager at BitPay and organizer of the World of Bitcoin said in a recent press release:
“Bitcoin is rapidly redefining financial and commercial paradigms. The showcase represents some of the top talent in Bitcoin technology and will provide a unique experience for the 170,000 CES attendees.”
BitPay is not the only Bitcoin payment platform in the world but it is certainly making its presence felt in the virtual currency marketplace. The company recently began processing payments for the software giant Microsoft and debuted its NFC enabled payment app at Money20/20. BitPay and ESPN also reinvent the identity of the Beef ‘O’ Brady’s Bowl, held annually in St. Petersburg, Florida, as the Bitcoin Bowl that will be held on December 26.
Arena Sized Showcase
The World of Bitcoin will be located at the Las Vegas Convention Center South Hall, Booth 36223.
It will cover a 2,000 square foot island that will enable all 10 companies to showcase the different corners of the Bitcoin ecosystem. Visitors will be able to download a Bitcoin wallet, purchase Bitcoin, demo mining hardware, open an exchange account and learn about online security in one convenient place. They will also be able to chat with representatives from some of the leading companies in the industry, who collectively represent more than US$100 million in venture capital.
Along with its new partnership with Microsoft, BitPay announced two weeks ago that it would also be partnering with the gaming payment processor Xsolla to process Bitcoin payments. The gaming world seems to be opening itself up to using a much faster, easier and less expensive payment option, as BitPay seems to be leading the charge.
Gaming is a global activity and many international gamers are frustrated when they try to make a purchase only to have their debit card rejected because their nation is not fully supported by platforms such as PayPal and many banks.
Between the huge showcase at the CES and widespread acceptance of Bitcoin by gaming platforms and corporate giants, the future looks bright for this new technology. Acceptance is the key and education will generate acceptance. These two venues will serve as the perfect launch pad for Bitcoin’s educational efforts.
